  58.      ACCTOOL is an accesory based toolkit, it is designed to 
  59. allow you to do operations within other applications which are 
  60. normally not supplied by the application itself. For example, 
  61. finding the time whilst writing a document. Formatting a disk 
  62. while in Degas Elite, searching for a file inside Tempus.
  63.  
  64.      This version of ACCTOOL does not come with the cutdown 
  65. versions MICROTOOL (file operations only) or VIRUSTOOL (virus 
  66. killing accessory), these are available if you register and donate 
  67. some money (see Services).

  115. Using ACCTOOL

  118.      Installation

  120.           Place the files ACCTOOL.ACC, ACCHI.RSC (only needed if 
  121. you use High Resolution) and ACCTOOL.RSC in the main directory of 
  122. the disk from which you boot up (as you would do for any 
  123. accessory).

  125.      Usage

  127.           Click on the toolkit option in the Desk Accessory menu, 
  128. this will bring up the main menu.

  130.      Current Disk
  131.  
  132.           At the bottom of the menu (above our address) is the 
  133. Current Disk selector. By clicking on one of the drive letters 
  134. you will set the drive for future operations to work on, for
  135. example, Disk Space shows how much free space is on that drive.

  137.      Critical Mass Concepts Address

  139.           Clicking on this option (it's the writing at the 
  140. bottom of the menu) will display the current version of ACCTOOL,
  141. and a brief copyright message.

  143.      Set printer configuration
  144.  
  145.      Clicking on this option brings up a menu, listed below are 
  146. the meanings of the options :
  147.  
  148.      Dot Matrix / Daisy Wheel : This decides which type of 
  149.                                printer you are using, if
  150.                                it is daisy wheel the ST won't
  151.                                be able to do screen dumps for
  152.                                example
  153.      
  154.      Monochrome / Colour      : We would assume that this is used
  155.                                by the ST to decide whether to
  156.                                try a monochrome or colour screen
  157.                                dump, not having a colour printer 
  158.                                we wouldn't know.
  159.  
  160.      Atari / Epson            : This is needed to decide what 
  161.                                 control codes are sent to the
  162.                                 printer (all Epson compatibles,
  163.                                 should be set to Epson).
  164.      
  165.      Draft / Quality          : Draft means that the printer 
  166.                                will print as normal, whereas 
  167.                                Quality tells the printer to
  168.                                printout in Near Letter Quality
  169.                                Mode (only use this if your
  170.                                printer supports it).
  171.  
  172.      Printer / RS232 Port     : Printer port means that the 
  173.                               printer is connected to the 
  174.                               parallel printer port at the back 
  175.                               of the ST (labelled with a little
  176.                               picture of a printer on the 
  177.                               casing). RS232 means that the 
  178.                               printer should be connected to the
  179.                               serial port (labelled with a little
  180.                               modem icon on the casing).

  182.      Continuous / Sheet Feed  : This tells the ST whether you 
  183.                               have continuous stationary or 
  184.                               whether it is fed one sheet at a 
  185.                               time.

  187.      To use simply click on the options which apply to your 
  188. printer (pressing the righthand side turns off the left and vice-
  189. versa), then press Cancel if you've changed your mind or OK if 
  190. you haven't.

  192.      Disk Space
  193.           
  194.           This displays how much room is left on the current disk 
  195. drive, clicking on the option will display the value in bytes.

  197.      Rename file
  198.  
  199.           Select the file with the file selector, as you would 
  200. normally do the select OK to go ahead or Cancel to abort. A 
  201. second menu will pop up and ask you for the new filename, enter 
  202. it and then press OK to use it or Cancel to forget about the 
  203. whole idea.

  205.      Move File
  206.      
  207.           Use the file selector to select the original file and 
  208. then you will be prompted with another file selector to choose
  209. it's destination (the destination can be on another disk drive).
  210. Be warned ! Copying THEN deleting the original is FAR safer.

  212.      Copy File
  213.  
  214.           This is identical to Move File (above) except the 
  215. original is not deleted.

  217.      Delete File
  218.  
  219.           Clicking on delete file will give you a file selector, 
  220. choose the file to be deleted then press OK to go ahead or Cancel 
  221. to abort.

  223.      Remove Dir
  224.  
  225.           This is used to delete folders, selecting it will give
  226. you a file selector. Choose the directory to be deleted by 
  227. clicking on it in the file selector (the program actually just 
  228. takes the pathname at the top of the selector and deletes that 
  229. folder). Use this with caution.

  231.      Free Memory
  232.           
  233.           This when selected displays how much free memory is 
  234. left in the computer.

  238.           Displays the current time and lets you change it by 
  239. editing the values (pressing ESC deletes the current setting, and 
  240. the arrow keys move you between date and time).
